October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Why do we have a Cybersecurity Month? Because common sense ain’t what it used to be. That’s not to say you’re stupid. But it does say that, because of the internet, the good ol’ days of what used to be common sense is no more.
We live in a new age of highly sophisticated technology, communications, expanded access to knowledge and, sadly, far more sophisticated crime. Crime that uses technology that changed the world is now used to rob you before you even know what is happening. We used to know what criminals did and how they operated. We were aware of the bad neighborhoods and shady businesses. Now, try to spot the criminal that operates using a computer and sophisticated tools like artificial intelligence to rob you. Good Luck! That’s why we have Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
